The company combines three decades of experience in the energy sector with over 15 years of specialisation in cutting-edge renewable energy solutions. Their portfolio includes a diverse range of technologies, including solar photovoltaic, biomass, hydroelectric plants, and combined-cycle power generation.

Renowned for delivering turnkey projects, our client has successfully executed over 212 power generation projects in more than 50 countries. The company has built a niche in pioneering renewable energy projects while maintaining a strong presence in conventional energy systems.

 

Project Overview: Building a Power Plant for Energy Independence 

The project we are collaborating on is a 500MW photovoltaic power plant—a significant renewable energy initiative that will contribute to the Dominican Republic’s energy independence and environmental goals.

Assisting such an experienced and respected client is a fulfilling challenge. This partnership enables us to showcase our expertise and capabilities on an international scale, supporting our client as they expand their portfolio and make impactful decisions in renewable energy.

Currently, the project is in the commissioning phase, a critical stage involving rigorous system testing, material assessments, and training for the personnel who will operate the plant. Prime Engineering has assigned an experienced consultant to work alongside a dedicated team of 10 people.

Through our Team Extension service, we aim to help our client build a skilled local engineering team capable of maintaining and scaling their projects effectively. The initial project kick-off is expected to last around five months, after which our consultant will transition to another project in Puerto Rico, implementing similar solutions.

Our consultant is equipped with a complete set of tools, including AutoCAD, Excel, and Omicron, for testing and quality assurance (QA).

Our client faced several challenges, including managing the personnel working on-site in the Dominican Republic, finding a professional capable of leading a team within a construction site, and ensuring effective communication with their client in Spain to keep the project on track.

Operating with a Spanish company but delivering services abroad brought additional complexity. The client required solutions delivered quickly, safely, and with technical excellence. Prime Engineering provided the necessary expertise and facilitated clear communication between the client’s team in Spain and their personnel on-site, tackling these cross-border project challenges.
